Transfer duty collections
8 March 2007

The state has raised R5,8 bn in the first 10 months of the 2006/2007 tax year, and this amount is expected to rise to R6,2bn for the entire year. Collections came down in 2006 after the exemption threshold jumped from R190,000 to R500,000. It is not surprising that no changes were announced for the 2006/2007 tax year.
