SAFLII (the Southern African Legal Information Institute) has launched LawCite, a free online legal citator service.
The citation index contains just under 3 million cases and journal articles, and will be useful to lawyers researching case law and legal topics.
The current (alpha) version of LawCite will no doubt experience a few teething problems, but (at date of writing) is up and running nicely except for a problem with access to the "Help" section.
Use the facility in one of two ways: -
1. Go to the LawCite search page at http://www.saflii.org/LawCite, and fill in one or more of the search parameters; or
2. If the judgment or decision you are researching is on one of the SAFLII databases -
b. Open the judgment (leave it in HTML, don't open it in the PDF or RTF formats), then
c. Click on the "LawCite" link near the top left of the page (next to the "Noteup" link).
