Absa to use Lexis®Sign

From the 26th of March, a number of ABSA Home Loan documents may now be signed digitally using Lexis®Sign, according to an ABSA notification from the National Manager: Attorney Panel.

What is Lexis Sign?
Lexis Sign is a digital signing platform, a product of LexisNexis, which is firmly established and fully integrated with LexisConvey and LegalSuite.

What this means for conveyancers

As a result of reducing document rejections caused by missing signatures and poor-quality scans and by increasing your turnaround time by getting your documents signed faster.

Improve Productivity
Using Lexis Sign you can have your documents signed digitally and submit them to the bank with one click. No more scanning of documents.

The following ABSA documents can now be signed digitally.

  • Mortgage loan agreement
  • Indemnity agreement
  • Application for debit order
  • Cession of insurance policy
  • Marketing Consent
  • Addendum to Mortgage Loan Agreement (Staff)
  • General cession in security
  • Loan debit authority
  • Building loan specimen signature
  • Proposal for home owners policy
  • Guarantee Letter
