David Green of MTA Solicitors has warned that cut-price online conveyancing services are in breach of Law Society rules because new entrants in the online conveyancing market quote low fees initially and then pile on extra costs. According to the Law Society Code of Conduct, both solicitors and their agents must be 'clear and upfront with fees'. Another problem with cut-price conveyancing services is that they use non-qualified staff with little or no experience and an over-reliance on case management systems.
