CONVEYANCING COURSE FOR CONVEYANCING SECRETARIES/PARALEGALS
The Black Conveyancers Association (BCA) together with its partners Juta SA and Korbitec, A LexisNexis Company, will be commencing a training initiative aimed specifically at conveyancing secretaries and paralegals. This foundational level course will be presented in a lectured course format. Learners will be introduced to the conveyancing and property landscape.
Course overview
Learners will also be provided with a good working knowledge and understanding of what conveyancing is all about, who the role-players are and be given a fairly detailed overview of what the transfer, bond and bond cancellation process entails, including GhostConvey practical sessions.
Methodology
The course is formally lectured by our Conveyancers and subject matter experts. Learner interaction and participation is encouraged by way of formal assignments, class tests, case studies, occasional role-play situations and self-study. On-going assessment (formative and summative) takes place in order to ensure the learner has a practical understanding of the process to adequately prepare them for prospective employment.

Reader Comments:
This is a brilliant initiative. We request that it be rolled out to other needy areas like East London.
I have done this course through the BCA. I enjoyed it thoroughly, lecturers where great. A must for up and coming conveyancing paralegals.
This is great! For me who is interested and based in Johannesburg how will it work?
Yes I agree with Ncumisa and to Port Elizabeth area.
When will the course be available in the East London Area?
Also agree with Charise and Ncumisa with a course in Port Elizabeth.
I work in rural Bethal, Mpumalanga. Any possibility of a correspondence course?
In response to a number of queries, the BCA is endeavouring to roll out this course in the following cities for 2017: Gauteng, Port Elizabeth, East London and Bloemfontein. We further note the need to reach the rural areas and our intentions are to develop this course as a distance or e-learning option in the very near future as well.
