Chief Registrar's Circular No. 10 of 2007 - Commencement of certain sections of the Children's Act, No 38 of 2005, in which a child whether male or female now becomes a major on reaching the age of 18 years. As far as its impact on the Deeds Office is concerned, all transactions entered into before the Act came into operation (i.e. registrations of property acquired by children below the age of 21 years with the assistance of a guardian or the consent of the Master or the Court before 1 July 2007) will be governed by the law as it was then.
