Chief Registrar's Circular 13/2014

THE PROCESS OF VERIFICATION OF THE CERTIFICATES ISSUED BY THE COMPANIES AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY COMMISSION

1. Certain provisions as contained in CRC 12 of 2003 are out-dated. CRC 12 of 2003 is therefore withdrawn and substituted with this Circular.

2. Certificates that are registered and issued by the Commissioner of the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (“ClPC”) can be verified on the website of the CIPC (www.cipc.co.za).

3. To accommodate the process of the verification of the ClPC-certificates in the deeds registration system, deeds registries are to call for a conveyancer’s certificate upon the lodgement of a ClPC-certificate for registration purposes. A conveyancer’s certificate in the above-mentioned regard must be along the following lines:

Verification of Certificate of * ……………………...

I, **.................hereby certify that the Certificate of*......................has been duly verified

by myself on the CIPC-website +......................................on ++.....................................

......................................                                                         ...............................................
DATE                                                                                       CONVEYANCER

*  Insert nature of certificate
** Insert Full name of Conveyancer
+  Insert address of website
++ Insert date of verification of certificate
