Chief Registrar's Circular No.8 of 2008 - Lodgement of Rates Clearance Certificates in terms of the Municipal Systems Act (Act No. 32 of 2000).

The effect of the amendment (by s19 of the Local Government Laws Amendment Act, 2008) of section 118 of the Act is that all prescribed certificates issued on or after 13 October 2008 will be valid for a period of 60 days from date of issue, as opposed to 120 days previously.
