Deeds Registries Act amendment

In respect of Regulation 68, the following two forms are new. They concern the publication in newspapers of the intention to apply for a copy of lost or destroyed deeds and the intention to cancel lost or destroyed bonds. The two forms are reproduced here for your convenience.

Form GG - Lost Deed

Notice is hereby given in terms of the provisions of regulation sixty-eight made under the Deeds Registries Act, 1937, that it is the intention to apply for the issue of a certified copy of ................................................. (here describe the deed) dated ..................... passed by .......................... in favour of ............................. *in respect of certain ......................................... (here insert the description of the property) which has been lost or destroyed.

All persons having objection to the issue of such copy are hereby required to lodge the same in writing with the Registrar of Deeds at ..................... within three weeks after the date of the first publication of this notice.

Form HHH - Cancellation of Lost Bond

Notice is hereby given in terms of the provisions of regulation sixty-eight of the Regulations made under the Deeds Registries Act, 1937, that it is the intention to apply for the cancellation of ........................................... (here insert bond code, number and year) dated ..................... passed by ........................ for the amount of ................. in favour of ......................... *in respect of certain .......................................... (here insert the description of the property) which has been lost or destroyed.

All persons having objection to the cancellation of such bond are hereby required to lodge the same in writing with the Registrar of Deeds at ............................ within three weeks after the date on the first publication of this notice.
