The drop in show house attendance in parts of the Western Cape by as much as 70 percent is being seen essentially as a stalemate between buyers and sellers, as the market shifts in favour of buyers. Sellers who have also speculated in more than one property are now starting to give in to lower offers. Despite this there is no indication of a bubble; rather it is seen as a healthy correction and an evening-out of the market.
The middle and lower end of the market is still active with a lot of interest being shown in areas which up until recently people might not have looked at seriously.
