Standard Bank - Cost of Credit
It seems that some clients still receive instructions where there are no tier details in the instruction, which leads to a blank Paragraph 4. Should you experience this, please contact your bank ALO.

A STANDARD BANK LOAN TYPE - LIBERATOR BONDS:
"Essentially, Liberator is a collateral-based debt facility that allows you to consolidate your home loans at one preferential rate. The Liberator facility is coupled with a transaction account and therefore allows you to make deposits or withdrawals using any of our electronic banking channels.
How is a Liberator facility structured?
The minimum Liberator facility amount is R500 000. Mortgage bonds, shares, life policies and unit trusts are accepted as security for the facility. Liberator allows you to make any number of lump sum transfers to the account, in addition to normal repayments at any time. You can transfer funds up to your account limit for any purpose. No penalties are payable for early repayment of the loan.
What do I need to qualify for a Liberator facility?
To be granted a Liberator facility you need to have:
- an income of at least R500 000 a year in your individual capacity
- a clean credit record; and
- a Standard Bank transaction account or be willing to open one"

This month's recipe - Christmas Gingerbread Cookies

Ingredients
3 1/2 cups cake flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon bicarb
2 teaspoons ground ginger
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground allspice
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 gingerbread boy-shaped cookie cutter
1/2 cup softened butter
3/4 cup molasses
1 or 2 eggs
Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Put all dry ingredients into a large bowl and mix thoroughly.
- Add in the butter, molasses and eggs and mix until completely blended.
- Cover and refrigerate 45 minutes.
- Roll dough to 1/4 inch thick on a lightly floured surface & cut into shapes.
- Place cookies on lightly greased cookie sheet about 2" apart & bake 10 to 15 minutes.
- Decorate with icing.
