This landmark is a testament to the collaborative approach adopted between the PRA, Law Society, and the Irish Mortgage Council in developing the new service.

eDischarges is the first tangible element of eConveyancing in Ireland. This new online system enables lending institutions to request the cancellation of registered charges by electronic means without the need to submit any paper to the PRA. This secure transparent and user friendly system was developed in-house by PRA staff in a short time period and has significantly reduced many of the inefficiencies and inherent delays experienced when mortgages were redeemed in the paper environment.
