Solicitors, conveyancers and estate agents have responded with overwhelming support for Land Registry's e-conveyancing proposals, according to independent research commissioned by Land Registry, with almost 70 percent liking the ability to view home-buying chains online.
Estate agents were especially keen about receiving updates on the chain by e-mail, while conveyancers liked the calendar which would show key dates up to final completion. Over 86 percent of conveyancers said that they were likely or very likely to take up the introduction of automatic registration. Property professionals are clearly enthusiastic about the introduction of e-conveyancing as it will bring transparency to the market and make property transactions quicker and easier for the public.
Trivial but interesting fact: Around £1million worth of property is processed every minute in England and Wales.
