Sea view fight

Two aggrieved homeowners went to court last week to stop the developers of luxury beachfront apartments from blocking their panoramic sea views. The case was adjourned on Tuesday to allow the developers time to consider their position. But the municipality set aside development plans for the six-storey apartment block in Ramsgate, citing flaws in the approval process.

The developers claim that the obstruction of the view will be marginal, while the owners claim their views and privacy will be seriously affected. One, Trevor Turnbull-Jackson runs a guest house and he claims that the 24 metre high proposed development would, "...without a doubt, impact on the value of the operation."
