Practice Management

Seminar

A vast amount of uncertainty exists as to the validity of certain marriages entered into in terms of the Black Administration Act 38 of 1927, the Recognition of Customary Marriages Act 120 of 1998 and marriages concluded subsequent to 1 December 1988.

In the same vein, succession in terms of the Constitutional Court Case of Bhe, and the subsequent amendment of the Intestate Succession Act 81 of 1987, read in conjunction with the Reform of Customary Law of Succession and Regulation of Related Matters 11 of 2009, have also made the devolution of estates very intricate.

The purpose of this seminar is to provide more clarity on the aforesaid Acts, case law and directives issued on this thorny issue and everyone involved in conveyancing, property law and succession are urged to attend.
