Consumer dictates and powerful technologies have combined to create fast, cheap and convenient conveyancing "factories". This phenomenon does not come without its detractors.
An unqualified paralegal cannot rely on past personal knowledge in tricky situations and many people still prefer the personal touch.
Yet volume conveyancing is growing for the simple reason that consumers look for the cheapest option. It is only when problems start that the competent conveyancer is then called in to sort out the mess. Successful property transactions are correctly seen as a coherent exercise in communication, but the article incorrectly, I believe, assumes that volume conveyancing cannot work.
