Registrar’s Notice No. 3 of 2011 - Billing on registration
The Implementation of a changed fee billing system by the Chief Registrar of Deeds, is being implemented in Cape Town and Pietermaritzburg as from 1 August 2011 and will be incrementally implemented in the other deeds offices. The changes have already being implemented in Bloemfontein and King Williams Town.
As from 1 August 2011, deeds handed in for execution will be billed during the final “black booking” process, i.e. prior to execution and will be verified / confirmed upon being registered. The notice outlines the impact of this implementation on conveyancing firms and the examination and registration sections of the deeds office.
