Digital deeds office

Deeds registries in Pretoria, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pietermaritzburg, Bloemfontein and King William's Town have begun converting from dual-head microfilm cameras to digital scanners for use in archiving by microfilm. According to a report issued by Agriculture and Land Affairs Minister Thoko Didiza, "the initiative will eventually culminate in the digitisation of all deeds registry archives as part of the department's proposed scanning solution."
