Someone once commented that the reason the British Empire lasted as long as it did was because the British system of weights and measures was so obtuse and devoid of logic that the entire world was bamboozled by it for decades.

Imagine still computing in Perches, Roods, Chains, Cape and English Square Feet etc???

We sensibly changed to the metric system many years ago but are still required in deeds to reflect undivided shares in fractions.

When one conducts an electronic Deeds search undivided shares are shown under the metric system so their recording has already been altered

Surely the time has arrived to regularize by adopting the metric system totally and get rid of the fractions?
