Jhb Deeds Office delays

In the letter, requested by Sophia de Klerk in her capacity as the chairperson of the Property Law Sub Committee of the JAA, following meetings with the Registrar, the Acting Registrar of Deeds Adv AF Gwangwa, gives her reasons for the approximately 12 week delay in the delivery of registered deeds. The main reason is that obsolete equipment continually breaks down. New equipment is being acquired, however in matters of emergency the office is prepared to expedite the delivery of particular deeds.
