However, according to Steve Holland, executive director of the professions division of Lockton, says: "… conveyancing firms do appear to be the worst offenders and take the brunt of criticism that they produce more claims than anyone else, this has to be put into the context of the number of conveyancing transactions that occur every year, [where they] are often carried out under great time and cost constraints."

Some firms fail to devote adequate resources to this area of their business because they view it as routine and purely administrative.
