e-Conveyancing

Phased approach

Land Information New Zealand is abandoning its planned big bang roll-out for the third phase of its online transformation in favour of five smaller phases, after consultations with external users. This will make it easier for customers to understand Landonline's new functionality and to deal with the extension of e-dealing instruments from 18 to 362. By law, all survey and land title transactions have to be lodged electronically by 2008. During December 75% of e-capable transactions were lodged electronically and as e-lodgement increases LINZ will be able to reduce 112 positions as the volume of manual processing work diminishes.

Placed end-to-end, the shelves which contain the millions of paper records would stretch to 28 kilometres.
