Deeds Office fees are to increase from 1 September (one month after date of publication - 2 August 2010), as set out in the Government Gazette of 27 February (No. 33413 Notice No. R.659). A number of the of changes have been made to the Schedule of Fees of Office as prescribed in regulations 84 and 86 of the Deeds Registries Act No 47 of 1937.
I have highlighted the fees for registering a transfer and a bond below - they have gone up by R50,00 across all divisions with the exception of a transfer below R150 000.
(a) A transfer of land of which the purchase price -
(i) does not exceed R150 000................................................R70,00
(ii) exceeds R150 000 but does not exceed R300 000........R350,00
(iii) exceeds R300 000 but does not exceed R500 000............R450,00
(iv) exceeds R500 000 but does not exceed R1 000 000..........R550,00
(v) exceeds R1 000 000 but does not exceed R2 000 000...........R650,00
(vi) exceeds R2 000 000 but does not exceed R3 000 000............R850,00
(vii) exceeds R3 000 000 but does not exceed R5 000 000...................R1050,00
(viii) exceeds R5 000 000................................................R1 250,00
(b) A bond of which the amount -
(i) does not exceed R150 000................................................R310,00
(ii) exceeds R150 000 but does not exceed R300 000........R350,00
(iii) exceeds R300 000 but does not exceed R500 000............R450,00
(iv) exceeds R500 000 but does not exceed R1 000 000..........R550,00
(v) exceeds R1 000 000 but does not exceed R2 000 000...........R700,00
(vi) exceeds R2 000 000 but does not exceed R5 000 000............R1 050,00
(vii) exceeds R5 000 000................................................R2 050,00
