According to an article in the BusinessDay, Absa's share has shrunk to 33,2%, having lost 1,2% to Standard Bank last year. Standard now has 24,6% of the retail mortgage market, valued at R275 m. Overall, Standard Bank has gained 5% retail mortgage market share in three years and another 0,8% in the first quarter of this year.
