Test case

A test case in the Victorian Supreme Court threatens to drive non-lawyer conveyancers out of business and restore the monopoly the state's solicitors once enjoyed over property transactions. The state government is considering exposing solicitors to more competition from non-lawyer conveyancers, something which the Law Institute says will expose the public to unqualified persons engaging in legal practice.
