This is because a tender has been awarded for the first stage of the Vic Online Land Exchange. Once complete, the Land Exchange will allow subdivision certification applications to be lodged and tracked online and authorised participants to lodge discharge, transfer and mortgage documents electronically into the Land Registry. It will also enable financial settlement online.

Key Projects of the Land exchange include:

Electronic Conveyancing(EC)
An Internet-based system that will enable online processing for the settlement and lodgement of land dealings.

Streamlined Planning through Electronic Applications and Referrals (Spear)
An online project aimed at streamlining the planning, building and subdivision process by allowing applications to be lodged and tracked online and referred electronically to stakeholders for comment.

Vendor Statement Certificates Online (VSCO)
Whereby vendor statement certificates will be able to be ordered, retrieved and delivered.

In April 2003 the project launched a new property selection tool, the Property Translation Service (PTS), which simplifies, speeds up and increases the accuracy of property identification.

It will work alongside Land Victoria's existing land systems and services and provide an online alternative to the current paper-based delivery system of land-related information and transactions.
