IT & the Lawyer

Why Acrobat?

Lawyers process information. Today, most of that information exists on paper and in digital format. As more and more paper-based information is converted into digital information, lawyers will want tools to do the job. Adobe Acrobat ™ allows one to convert paper-based documents into Portable Document Format (PDF) files. These can then be used and shared with anyone else who has the free Adobe Reader programme.

Once scanned in, a document in PDF format can be manipulated by inter alia highlighting, underlining and strike-throughs. Moreover, PDF files with background text can be searched. The merits of Adobe notwithstanding, it has become a very necessary tool to view documents and no PC should be without it.
