Cilna Steyn - As head of the Property Litigation Department at Steyn & Steyn in Roodepoort, Ms Steyn specialises in tenant eviction and other property-related litigation. 

About the seminar
The seminar will be presented in the form of a workshop, with the main focus on practice rather than theory. Both residential and commercial evictions will be covered, with residential evictions being discussed in terms of the Prevention of Illegal Evictions from and Unlawful Occupation of Land Act 19 of 1998 (known as the PIE Act).

The programme will include:

  • Commercial Evictions: High Court and Magistrate’s Court;
  • Residential evictions: ESTA; PIE; High Court and    Magistrate’s Court; action and motion procedure;
  • Rental claims; and
  • The Rental Housing Tribunal
